CIM19SADT-01

CIM19SADT-01 is an intermediate-maturing maize hybrid bred for the tropical lowlands of South Asia. This high-yielding, orange-kernel maize hybrid performs well under drought and drought-plus-waterlogging conditions, and has tolerance to TLB, FSR and BLSB.   General Information
  Target Region South Asia
  Adaptation/Agroecological zone Tropical Lowland
Type of product Single cross hybrid
  Year first announced 2022

      Kernel Characteristics
Grain Yield   Kernel color Orange
Grain yield (opt.) 8.8 t/ha   Kernel texture Semi-dent
Grain yield under on-farm conditions 4.9 t/ha
Grain yield under drought stress (DT) 2.8 t/ha   Biotic Stress Performance
Grain yield under waterlogging stress (WL) 3.4 t/ha   Fusarium stalk rot (FSR) (AI) (1-9) 4.6
Grain yield random stress (RS) 4.1 t/ha   Turcicum leaf blight (TLB) (AI) (1-9) 4.8
Banded leaf and sheath blight (BLSB) (AI) (1-9) 4.7
Agronomic Characteristics   Diseases are scored on a 1-9 scale, where 1 = Highly resistant; 5 = Tolerant; 9 = Highly susceptible.

Ears per plant 1.0   Male parent yield 3.9 t/ha
Ear aspect (1-5) 2   Nicking -3 days
Plant aspect (1-5) 2.5
Plant and ear aspects are scored on 1-5 scale, where 1 = desirable and 5 = undesirable characteristics   Comments
Product information is based on data from the CIMMYT South Asia 2019 Regional Trial (South Asia PP2 and 3) and 2020 and 2021 regional on-farm trials (ROFT20-1 and ROFT21-1). Actual performance will vary depending on a number of agronomic and environmental factors.
