CIM21EAPP2-01

CIM21EAPP2-01 is a late-maturing, very high-yielding, white maize hybrid with drought tolerance, moderate nitrogen-use efficiency, and resistance to common foliar diseases such as GLS, TLB, common rust as well as ear rots. The product is notable for being prolific, with long cobs, good husk cover and large, semi-flint grains.   General Information
  Target region Eastern Africa
  Adaptation/Agroecological zone 1300-2000 masl
  Type of product Three-way cross
  Year first announced 2023

Farmer score (1-5)** 2.33   Comments
*Plant and ear aspects are scored on 1-5 scale, where 1 = desirable and 5 = undesirable characteristics   Product information is based on data from CIMMYT's East Africa 2021 Stage 4 (CIM21EAPP2-RT) and 2022 Stage 5 (EA-ROFT 2022-P2) Trials. MSV tolerance is based on presence of genetic markers for MSV resistance.

Actual performance will vary depending on a number of agronomic and environmental factors.
