  Region Southern Africa
Type of product Three-way cross hybrid
  Year first announced 2013

  Grain Characteristics
  Grain color orange
      Grain texture Semi-flint
Grain Yield   PVA content 10.0µg/g
Grain yield (MEA) (OPT) 7 t/ha
Grain yield (MEB) (OPT) 6 t/ha   Biotic Stress Performance
Grain yield (MEC) (RS) 4 t/ha   Turcicum leaf blight (TLB) (1-9) 1.9
      Rust (1-9) 3.5
Agronomic Characteristics   Grey leaf spot (GLS) (1-9) 1.3
Maturity Early   Ear rot  11.0%
Days to 50% Anthesis 58.5   Diseases were originally scored on a 1-5 scale but have been converted here to a 1-9 scale, where 1 = Highly resistant; 5 = Tolerant; 9 = Highly susceptible.
Anthesis-silking interval 1.2 days
Bad husk cover 10.2%
Ear aspect (1-5) 2.7   Seed Production Characteristics
Ears per plant 1.0   Female seed yield  7.0 t/ha
Ear height 100.7 cm   Male seed yield  2.2 t/ha
Plant height 209.3 cm   Nicking 1 day
Root lodging 8.7%
Stalk lodging 11.8%   Comments
Plant and ear aspects are scored on 1-5 scale, where 1 = desirable and 5 = undesirable characteristics   Product information is based on data from the CIMMYT Southern Africa Maize Regional On-Station 2013 Trials. Actual performance will vary depending on a number of agronomic and environmental factors.
